Euclid House, located at 1227 Euclid Street in Washington, DC, is a 1,716-square-foot row house situated on a 3,031-square-foot lot. Originally built in 1922, the home was in need of thoughtful exterior upgrades—particularly at the rear façade, backyard, and garage.Our work focused on the early schematic design phase, envisioning strategic interventions that would enhance both functionality and outdoor living. The proposal included a modest rear addition to expand the primary bedroom and office on the upper level, while introducing a mudroom at the lower grade. In the backyard, a new fire pit, seating area, and outdoor kitchen were designed to activate the landscape, and a roof terrace above the existing garage provided additional private outdoor space—creating multiple zones for gathering, relaxation, and connection to the outdoors.
