Located in the heart of Washington, DC, 1101 K Street is a repositioned office building designed to stand out in a competitive commercial market. As part of a broader transformation to modernize the building and elevate the tenant experience, a previously vacant rooftop was reimagined as a vibrant outdoor terrace.Once unused and overlooked, the terrace is now a welcoming extension of the workplace—a space for collaboration, quiet focus, or simply a breath of fresh air during the workday. Outfitted with comfortable seating, shaded areas, and lush plantings, it offers a natural escape above the city while encouraging community among tenants.The project has been completed, and both building ownership and tenants have embraced the new space as a key amenity that enhances the building’s overall identity and appeal.This rooftop was designed by PARADIGMoffice founder Mercedes Afshar during her time at Hickok Cole.
