What started as a strictly utilitarian structure to provide the need for storage for an adjacent pool quickly transformed into an idea of using “building” to define outdoor space. The Potomac Pool House is designed to encompass the pool and provide a variety of sitting and activity zones around the backyard. Aside from storage, the pool house has an indoor sitting area/dining area that opens out to a covered outdoor dining area via a large pivoting door. The outdoor dining is protected from the weather by a roof deck which provides views of the pool and pickleball court below while a fire pit provides a space for the family to gather under the stars. The result is a modern building with clean lines that compliments the main house and is integrated into the overall landscape.
