The design concept of this farmhouse style renovation/addition of a colonial house in Washington D.C. explored expanding a small and confined kitchen into a large kitchen/breakfast area that connects to the family room and serves as the heart of the home. What once was a wall between the family room and the porch is now a folding door, connecting the interior to the exterior. A new backyard terrace and covered bbq area creates additional entertainment space for the family to enjoy. The project is currently in the construction documentation phase and is projected to be built during the summer of 2021.
